Unofficial transcript barnard where is it

Our Pre-Baccalaureate Program which is 7 weeks, is our only credit bearing option offered this summer. Students can enroll in a Barnard course that will have Barnard undergraduate students and taught by Barnard faculty. This program is more rigorous than our other 3-week institutes as this is a college-credit bearing program. Credits can be transferred to Barnard or another college.

What classes can I choose from?

Students can choose from one of our 8 courses by indicating their first and second choice course in their application.

How many students will be in my class and will I be in class with Barnard College students?

Class size can range from 15 - 20 students.

Yes, classes will be a mixture of current Barnard College students and high school students participating in our Pre-Baccalaureate program

How many credits will I earn?

Each course within the Barnard Pre-College Pre-Baccalaureate Program is worth 3 college credits

How can I use these credits?

These credits can transfer to any college or university that accepts credit transfers. If you attend Barnard in the future, your credits can be used here.

Admissions and Enrollment

Who is eligible for the Pre-Baccalaureate Program?

We accept young women who are current juniors or seniors in high school. We also accept gap year students who graduated from high school in Fall 2022 or Spring 2023 and Barnard first year students who are matriculating in the Fall 2023 semester.

How can I apply? When are applications due?

You can apply by clicking here. Applications are due by April 15th but we encourage you to apply as soon as possible!

I was accepted. Now what?

Congratulations! After being accepted into a course within our Pre-Baccalaureate program, students are given 2 weeks to confirm/decline enrollment via our enrollment reply form (which can be found by logging into your application portal)

What information will I get after I confirm my enrollment?

Once you confirm your enrollment, our team will register you and set up your Barnard account credentials. Then, our team will email you confirmation on how to activate your Barnard account. After activating your account you will be able to pay your tuition and complete enrollment forms prior to your program start date. Full payment finalizes your enrollment into the program.

Will I get a Barnard email address?

Yes, once a student is registered for their course, they will be sent an email with information on how they can activate their Barnard email.

Do you send anything to me by mail?

No. All instructions, materials, and forms are sent to students via email. Our team will email you using the email address you used to apply until you are able to activate your Barnard email address.

Academics

What do I have access to as a Pre-Baccalaureate student this summer?

Students will have access to all on-campus resources and spaces, as well as access to the Barnard and Columbia Libraries.

How will I receive my grades?

Your grade will be on your unofficial transcript that you receive at the end of the program. You can request an official transcript b y emailing Pre College Programs at pcp@barnard.edu and we will follow-up with next steps.

How long after the program end date can a student request a transcript?

You can expect your unofficial transcript, 2 weeks after the class ends, which is after finals have ended. Unofficial transcripts will be emailed to your Barnard email address.

When are finals?

The dates for finals will be announced during orientation. A few days prior to the finals period, you will have time to prepare and study. On these days which we call “Reading Days”, you will not have class.

What is the grading information for each course?

The numerical values of a course are determined by the instructor. The overall grading for courses are:

  1. Excellent: A+, A, A-
  2. Good: B+, B, B-
  3. Satisfactory: C+, C
  4. Unsatisfactory but passing: C-, D
  5. Failure: F
  6. Incomplete: I
  7. Withdrawal: W
  8. Absence from final examination: X

Is there a Pass/Fail option?

No, you will only receive a letter grade from the list stated in the bullet above, Pre-Baccalaureate students do not have the option to select a Pass/Fail grade.

How much is tuition?

Student Activities/Tech Fee - $60

What is your Withdrawal and Drop Policy?

To drop a course (course is removed entirely from the student’s transcript):

Students can drop a course between June 28 to July 13 with no notation on their transcript

Students should email pcp@barnard.edu with their request to drop and the reason. Our office will send an email confirmation to confirm that the course has been dropped.

To withdraw from a course (the course remains on your transcript with “W” notation):

Students can drop a class between July 13 - July 30 but this will be considered a withdrawal with a “W” notation on their transcript

Students should email pcp@barnard.edu with their request to withdraw and the reason. Our office will send an email confirmation to confirm that you have been withdrawn from the course.

To withdraw after July 30:

Dropping a course after July 30 can have a notation of unofficial withdrawal “UW” or “F” grade on your transcript.

When is my tuition due and can I pay in numerous installments?

Tuition must be paid within 2 weeks of receiving your invoice but if your invoice is received on or after June 14, payment in full must be received within 48 hours.

Students can pay their tuition in numerous installments and in different amounts, but payment must be received by the stated “pay-by” date in full.

How can I pay my tuition?

After receiving your tuition Invoice, follow the instructions on this statement to access your bill within the Student Account Center. Please first make sure that your Barnard email is activated, this is required to log-in. Activation instructions will be sent to you from our office during the enrollment process, if this was not received contact us at pcp@barnard.edu

To pay your tuition:

  1. An email will be sent to your Barnard email, with a secured link to access your profile in the Student Account Center . (SAC) is where you can view your invoice and submit payment.
  2. Follow the steps within the email to activate your account and create a profile
  3. Once you are logged into your account, click the “Manage Account Access” button within the Student Account Center to invite and grant access to your parent/guardian to view the invoice and submit payment.
  4. Then click the “ Add” button to enter your parent/guardian information, check the authorization box and lastly click “Send”
  5. Your parent/guardian will receive an email and link to access your account so they can submit payment and view the invoice. Parents and Authorized Users may log in using the "Email" and "Password" login section at the top, right hand corner of the page.

What are my payment options?

PLEASE NOTE: You cannot pay your tuition until after you have confirmed your enrollment and received an email from our team with instructions on how to activate your log in credentials. After you've completed that process, you will receive an email with your invoice.

Credit Card Payment :

Tuition Management Systems : www.barnard.afford.com : login to the Student Account Center or scroll down, and click "Make a One-Time Payment" to Barnard College (do not click the PreCollege Program link as this is you are a Pre-Baccalaureate student). There is a service fee to use this method of payment.

International Funds Wire Transfer (non-US dollar accounts):

Although Barnard College does not accept direct wire transfers, it offers two options to streamline the tuition payment process for our students. Both options require you to wire funds to the processor who then forwards the funds to the College. Check both to determine which is the best option for you:
